Frequently Asked questions
Do you run classes for my group size?
Yes. Classes are best for up to 12 participants. For larger groups, we can split into smaller sessions with additional chefs or facilitators to keep it interactive and personal.
What do I need to prepare before the class?
Each participant will need their own ingredients, basic kitchen equipment, and a stable internet connection. We recommend light prep beforehand—washing, chopping, and measuring—so everyone can cook smoothly during the live session.
What time should we join, and how long does it run?
Please join 5–10 minutes early to test audio and video. Most classes run 60–90 minutes, depending on the menu and group size. The session can also be recorded, so you can rewatch or share it with anyone who missed it.
How does CHEFIN Online Cooking Class flows?
When you book your class, our team will reach out with a few quick questions about what you’d like to cook and the kind of cuisine you’re after. We’ll match you with a private chef who will design a custom class menu around your tastes, preferences, and dietary needs. You’ll receive the menu for approval ahead of time, along with your virtual meeting link.
Before the class, you and your guests will receive a welcome email introducing the chef and dishes, plus a detailed shopping list, recipe booklet, and simple prep guide.
On class day, log in, meet your chef, and cook along in real time. You’ll get step-by-step instruction on techniques, ingredients, and the story behind the dishes. Ask questions anytime and get live feedback as you go—camera on if you can, it makes it more fun (and helps your chef coach you).
After cooking, sit down to enjoy what you made and share a relaxed lunch or dinner together online. If you’d like, your chef can stay on for a short Q&A, extra tips, and a few kitchen tricks to keep. You’ll wrap up with a full stomach, new skills, and a genuinely memorable experience with your people.
Can I do a virtual cook-off instead of a cooking class?
Absolutely. A virtual cook-off adds a little friendly competition. Your chef will still teach the recipes, then set a timer and send you off to cook on your own while staying live to answer questions and coach you through it.
At the end, everyone plates up on camera and the chef “judges” based on presentation, technique, creativity, and overall execution (they can’t taste it—sadly, Wi-Fi still doesn’t deliver flavor). It’s fast, fun, and perfect for team building, birthdays, or a lively night in with friends and family—no matter where everyone lives.
