How much does it cost to hire a personal chef in Seattle?
It depends which service you mean. For a one-off event, CHEFIN prices per person: cocktail and canapé packages from $65 a head, three-course fine dining from $195, five-course from $245, tax included. For recurring weekly cooking, the arrangement is priced weekly rather than per person and depends on how many people and how many meals. Tell the concierge which you are after and we will quote the right one.
How much is a private chef three days a week?
That is a personal chef arrangement rather than an event booking, and it is priced differently — usually a weekly rate rather than a per-person one. CHEFIN offers recurring meal preparation as well as one-off event dining. Give the concierge the number of people, the number of meals and any dietary needs, and we will price the actual plan rather than a hypothetical week.
Are private chefs worth it?
For an occasion, usually. The comparison is not against cooking at home but against a restaurant: a comparable dinner for eight in Seattle, plus drinks, tax, tip and parking, often costs more than a private chef at your own table — and in this city, from November to March, nobody wants to drive anywhere anyway. For routine weeknight cooking it is a different service.
What is the difference between a private chef and a personal chef?
A private chef is booked for one occasion and cooks and serves on the day. A personal chef visits regularly to prepare meals for a household through the week. CHEFIN provides both in Seattle. Tell the concierge which you are after and we will match you accordingly rather than quoting the wrong model.
Does the private chef cook at my house?
Yes. Your chef cooks on site in your kitchen. They work with the equipment that is there, bring premium ingredients bought fresh for your menu, and cook and plate everything on the night. Nothing arrives pre-made in trays. If the kitchen is small or short on equipment, tell the concierge and your chef plans the menu around it.
Is there a maximum number of guests for a private chef in Seattle?
There is no hard limit, but the format changes with the numbers. Up to about fifteen guests suits a seated, plated dinner with one chef. Beyond that we usually suggest family-style share plates or canapés, and add a second chef or wait staff.
Do private chefs clean up after cooking?
Yes. Every CHEFIN booking in Seattle includes full cleanup of the kitchen and dining area, and your chef leaves the space as they found it. Cleanup is part of the per-person price, not charged separately.
Are the ingredients fresh, and who does the grocery shopping?
Your chef does the shopping and brings premium ingredients bought fresh for your menu, choosing local, seasonal produce and quality proteins rather than whatever is cheapest. In this market that means Puget Sound shellfish, Skagit Valley produce and whatever is genuinely good that week. Ingredient cost is included in the per-person price.
Can a private chef in Seattle accommodate dietary restrictions?
Yes. Dietary needs are collected at booking and the menu is built around them: gluten-free, dairy free, vegetarian, vegan, keto, halal, kosher-style and any specific allergy. Send them all through at once and your chef designs a single menu that caters to the whole table.
