Deborah Silva’s love of cooking was born at the family table. Growing up in California with a rich Latin American heritage, her earliest and fondest memories are of family gatherings centered around food — the noise, the warmth, and the joy of everyone piling in to share a meal. That spirit of hospitality is still the heart of how Debbie cooks today.

Her cooking is bold, colorful and generous, rooted in Latin American flavors and built on layers of texture, spice and freshness. Debbie has a real talent for bringing a pile of great ingredients together into something that feels like a party — approachable and unpretentious, but full of flavor and personality on every plate.

Nothing captures her better than her Guatemalan enchiladas — a dish she adores for its layers of taste and texture. A crisp fried tortilla piled with a rich tomato-chili sauce, pickled red onions and baby beets, grass-fed beef, thinly sliced Napa cabbage, fresh cilantro and cotija cheese. It’s celebration food, and it says everything about the way she cooks.

Warm, fun and endlessly generous, Debbie makes every meal feel like a gathering.
